ReRoute Practitioner

My name is Katie Carlton, and I am one of the ReRoute Practitioners in the VVU team. I joined the team in July 2024 having previously spent 10 years working as a Probation Officer in Essex.

My passion is working with people who have found themselves on the wrong side of the Law and helping them move towards desistance at a time that they are ready. I do this in a variety of ways, tailoring and sequencing my approach to suit each individual.

I have a keen interest in Criminal Psychology particularly the effect of childhood trauma on adult behaviour.

Outside of work you will find me spending time with my family and friends or jogging around the streets of Chelmsford.
