Youth Offending Team Practitioner

I am Rhys Baker and I am youth offending team practitioner in Essex.  I am currently seconded to work with the VVU for the high risk cohort and ReRoute approach.  My role encompasses building the need for support and identifying pathways to ensure that we are working with the right young people and also carrying out work with individuals.

Working with young people at the earliest point has been an amazing opportunity for me and I have enjoyed having the chance to work on a project from its inception.

I have had a varied career spanning science, construction, drugs intervention and now a Youth Offending practitioner.  I have worked for Essex Youth Offending Service for more than 10 years and my passion for working with young people and young adults support has never dulled.

Outside of work I have a family and dog who always keep me busy and entertained.  An interesting fact about me is that I am a noted storyteller and if ever you have a spare hour I can tell you the living history of Pitsea!
